She taught kindergarten, first grade and fifth grade before serving as an assistant principal in Troup County. During this time, Katie earned her Master's and Specialist degrees in Elementary Education and her Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. After five years serving as an assistant principal, Katie joined TEAM RESA as the Science School Improvement Specialist. Dr. Thompson has specialized knowledge in the fields of STEM, STEAM and Instructional Technology. Katie currently serves at the Coordinator of Professional Learning and Innovative Programs at West Georgia RESA, where she coordinates professional learning sessions, courses and instructional conferences.
