Marie Yuran - Coordinator

Marie Yuran has been working in the education field since graduating from Brenau University in 1996. Marie began her career as a special education teacher with the
Jackson County School System. She also served as a special education teacher and teacher leader in Missoula, Montana and Montgomery County, Maryland prior to returning to
Georgia in 2011. In 2011, she continued her educational journey as the special education coordinator at Clarke Central High School (CCHS). During her seven year tenure at CCHS she also served as the school Associate Principal and Principal. During her career, Marie has served as an advocate for students with disabilities and has worked to close the achievement gap related to student performance and graduation rate. At West Georgia RESA, she will serve as the GLRS Coordinator, where she and her team will provide professional learning and other resources to educators and families of students with disabilities. 


Erica Terry - Instructional Coach


Erica Terry began her education career as a high school Biology teacher in Cleveland Heights, OH. After three years in that role, she relocated to Georgia where she went on to serve as a teacher and administrator, holding a series of progressively responsible positions, including Director of School Counseling and Chief Academic Officer. Most recently, Erica has held the position of Education Program Specialist for Ohio Department of Education’s Office for Exceptional Children. While in this role, Erica provided training and support to teachers and administrators in the design and implementation of inclusive practices and Universal Design for Learning strategies that empower all students to achieve success. Erica is very excited to join TEAM RESA and looks forward to partnering with school districts to increase student achievement.

West Central GLRS is a part of a network of seventeen sites to provide professional learning and other resources to educators and families of students with disabilities. West Central GLRS serves Carroll, Carrollton City, Coweta, Harris, Heard, Meriwether, and Troup Counties. In addition, Burwell GNETS, Coweta Charter, and Odyssey School are also supported. What we do… GLRS staff is specialized in providing professional learning, technical assistance and coaching for school systems on a variety of topics related to students with disabilities including:

• Support Systems with the State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP)
• Provide Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) support to school systems
• Assist Focus Schools with CCRPI
• Support Special Education TAPP Teachers
• Analyze data
• Facilitate math and reading projects
• Implement/support drop-out prevention initiatives

• Support transition planning and services

Develop other specialties based on student needs related to the CCRPI and SPP/APR
